- Nicolino Locche, born in Tunuyán, Argentina, was one of the first idols of his country in the world of boxing. Nicknamed "Untouchable," Locche had 136 fights, with 117 victories, four defeats and 14 draws. He was also a welterweight champion. He died September 7, 2005. Photo: Reproducción Internet
- What can we say about Carlos Monzón. For many, he is the undisputed king of Argentine boxing. He was middleweight champion from 1970 to 1977. He fought 102 times, with 90 wins, three losses and nine ties. Photo: Getty Images
- Monzón was a controversial figure outside of the ring. On February 14, 1988 his wife died after falling off of a balcony in their apartement in Mar del Plata. Monzon was found guilty in her death and sentenced to 11 years for homicide. He died in a car accident in 1995. Photo: Getty Images

- Jorge 'La Locomotora' Castro was a fierce boxer and won a world champinship in the middleweight category. From the province of Santa Cruz, he had memorable fights against Reggie Johnson and John David Jackson. After his retirement, he has been featured on several reality shows in Argentina.
