Family members, friends and fans of boxing icon Héctor \"Macho\" Camacho showed up to pay tribute to the man at public wake in Puerto Rico Tuesday. THE FOLLOWING GALLERY INCLUDES GRAPHIC PHOTOS. THOSE WHO MAY BE OFFENDED BY IMAGES OF AN OPEN CASKET WAKE PLEASE REFRAIN FROM CONTINUING.

The funeral service was held a basketball court at the headquarters of the Department of Sports and Recreation in the Puerto Rican capital.

Camacho, who passed away on November 24 after suffering a gun shot wound on November 20, was dressed in white with a crucifix on his chest during the open casket ceremony.

Several internationally recognized Puerto Rican boxers attended the service, including former champion Wilfredo Gomez.

As well as Gomez, Orlando El Fenómeno Cruz, Félix Tito Trinidad,and José Carita López were among the 26 champions and former champions who showed up to honor Camacho.

Camacho died three days after a receiving a gun shot wound to his face in an incident that also claimed the life of his friend.

Camacho's family said that after the public viewing in Puerto Rico his body would be flown to New York, where Camacho grew up, for another service.

Camacho's mother, María Matías, sobbed as she carassed her son at the service. She said the body would be moved to New York on Thursday.

One of the most memorable moments of the ceremony was when a young fan of Camacho's, Alexander Birriel, who attended the funeral with his father, dressed up like the \"Macho Man\", to honor the boxer.

Despite the brief levity, the issue of where Camacho would be buried awakened turmoil among his family as one of his sons, Héctor \"Machito\" Camacho, wanted his father buried in Puerto Rico.
