Coming off a brace to start his French adventure, Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic will have to sit out Paris Saint-Germain’s second match against Ajaccio after not recovering in time from an injury to his right foot.
PSG’s Coach Carlo Ancelotti said Saturday that Ibrahimovic was hurt in last week’s game against Lorient, the first of the season, which ended in a 2-2 tie and had the Swedish striker scoring his first two official goals for the French outfit.
Ibrahimovic arrived at PSG from Milan in the summer for $25 million, and his loss, even if temporary, is of major concern to the Parisians.
After spending $300 million on first-rate players over the past couple of years, PSG fans are expecting great results but last week’s inaugural tie was a major disappointment.
“The game against Lorient showed us that we have to work harder in the coordination and balance of our game,” Ancelotti said.
