Barcelona and Real Madrid are reliving the final from the 2011 Spanish Supercopa, won by the Catalan side. Following, we remember the two games that defined the title.

August 14: The away match, in Santiago Bernabeu, finished in a trhilling 2-2 draw, in which the Madrid side was superior physically while Barcelona depdended on the individual talent of Villa and Messi to score on their only two opportunities at goal.

After Victor Valdes avoided a scor from Karim Benzema, the goal came in the 13th minute when Benzema received the ball in the box, held on to to it and passed it off to Mesut Ozil who finished with great quality.

The draw came in the 35th minute, when David Villa, on his first chance at goal, beat Ramos to finish to the right post.

At the end of the first half, in the 45th minute, Lionel Messi took advantage of a Madrid error to score the 2-1. A slip from Pepe and a bad touch by Khedira left him unmarked before Casillas.

Xabi Alonso would get the equalizer in the 54th minute, taking advantage of the first attack from his team in the second half, taking advantage of a rebound in a corner kick to finish.

August 17: In the second leg, in Cmap Nou, Lionel Messi was the star with two goals that gave Barcelona the title as they won the game 3-2 in a match that saw three ejections.

Messi fed the ball to Andres Iniesta for the Spanish international to make the 1-0 in the 15th minute .Ronaldo tied the match a few minutes later before Messi gave Barcelona the lead before halftime.

In the 81st minute Karim Benzema scored the 2-2 for Madrid but Messi get Barcelona the title on a volley inside the box to give Barcelona the 5-4 win on aggregate.

With the final score line, Barcelona won the Spanish Supercopa for the third consecutive season, tenth overalle, becomeing the team with the most Supercopas.

The game ended in controversy as Marcelona gave a hard foul on Cesc Fabregas in the Spaniards debut. After the play, the Brazilian, his teammate Mesut Ozil and David Villa were ejected.
