Barcelona says its Brazil international Dani Alves will be sidelined for 15-20 days due to a hamstring injury in his right leg.
The defender limped off clutching his leg during the club's 4-0 trouncing of Levante in the Spanish league on Sunday.
In a statement released Monday, the club said Alves had undergone medical tests which confirmed a muscle strain to his hamstring.
The club said the injury mirrored another very similar one Alves picked up in his other leg during the match against Real Madrid.
Barcelona said its injured player list now includes Marc Bartra, Marc Muniesa, David Villa, Isaac Cuenca, Alexis Sanchez and Eric Abidal.
