The transfer window has closed and several clubs reinforced their squads for the second half of the season. These are the most relevant transfers this winter.

Wesley Sneijder: The Dutch player lost playing time at Inter due to a contractual disagreement and finally left the Italian league to join Turkish side Galatasaray for $US10.5 mllion.

Mario Balotelli moved from Manchester City to Milan for US$27 million.

Lucas Moura: Although it was agreed in the summer, the Sao Paulo wunderkind was sold to PSG for 40 million euros and joined the club on January 1st.

Nicolas Anelka has joined Serie A's Juventus on a six month loan for a reported 600 thousand euros.

Giuseppe Rossi: The New Jersey-born Italian national team striker traded Spain for Italy as he moved from Villarreal to Fiorentina for US$14 mllion. Rossi is coming off a long injury abscense and hopes to regain his fitness and form with the Viola.

Didier Drogba: The Ivory Coast star has left the Chinese league after 6 months and is heading to Turkey's Galatasaray.

Alexandre Pato has returned to his native country at just 23. The permanent move from Milan to Corinthians was for $US21 mllion.

Daniel Sturridge: Left Chelsea for Anfield as he joined Liverpool in a US$21 million transfer.

Joe Cole: Once heralded as the future of English soccer, Cole left Liverpool after a short stint to go back to his original club, West Ham on a free transfer. Cole signed an 18-month deal.

Demba Ba: The prolific Senegalese striker is now plying his trade at Chelsea after lighting the lamp repeatedly at Newcastle. The transfer cost $US12 million.

Pablo Armero: Colombian winger Armero has made the move to Napoli from Udinese and on loan and will join fellow national teamer Camilo Zuniga in the Italian port city.

Uruguayan Diego Lugano moves from PSG to Malaga on loan to strengthen their defense.

French Mathieu Debuchy was sold by Lille to Newcastle for $US8.7 million.

Goalkeeper Diego López joined Real Madrdi from Sevilla to replace Iker Casillas who will be out from 2 to 3 months.

Argentine Emiliano Insúa joins Atletico Madrid from Portugal's Sporting for $US5 million.

Loic Remy joined Queens Park Rangers from Marseille for US$15 million.

Fernando Llorente: The Spanish striker who has fallen on tough times due to his disagreements with coach Marcelo Bielsa has been bought by Juventus and signed a 4-year deal but he will join the 'Old Lady' in July.

Moroccan striker Marouane Chamakh joined West Ham on a loan from Arsenal for an undiclosed fee.

Lucas Piazon: The young Brazilian prospect who recently scored his first goal for Chelsea has gone on loan to Málaga, where he is hoping to get more minutes.

23-year old Ivan Perisic has gone from Borussia Dortmund to Wolfsburg for $US10.5 million.

25-year old Taison joins Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk from Metalist for $US21 million.

Brazilian Vagner Love is joining CSKA Moscow for a third time. He joins from Flamengo on a permanent deal for $US8.5 million.

18-year old Brazilian Wallace (right) was transferred from Fluminense to Chelsea for $US 7.6 million

Wilfred Zaha: The young striker has been acquired by Manchester United for $US17 million but the 'Red Devils' allowed him to stay with his current club until the end of the season. He will go to Old Trafford in July.

Roger Espinoza: The Honduran midfielder who made a name for himself at Sporting Kansas City is on his way to Roberto Martinez's Wigan on a free transfer.

French Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is joining Newcastle from Montpellier for $US11 million.

Diego Reyes: The defensive midfielder formerly of América is headed to Porto, not Benfica as originally rumored. He will join the team in July.

Argentine Fernando Gago  is returning to his native country after spending 6 years in Europe with Real Madrid and Valencia, as he joins Velez Sarsfield on a 6-month loan.

Defender Nacho Monreal joined Arsenal from Malaga in one of the last deals that went through before the end of the transfer window. The deal is reported to be around $US 13 million.

Dutch midfielder Urby Emanuelson is going from Milan to Fulham on loan.

Brazil's Philippe Coutinho joined Liverpool from Inter Milan for 14 million.

Argentine goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo moved from Lazio to Inter on loan for $US350 thousand.

Mexico's Francisco Rodríguez returned to his native country after America bought the defender from Stuttgart for $US 2.8 million.

French defender Christopher Samba has joined Queens Park Rangers from Russia's Anzhi. The 13.2 million pounds ($US 21 mllion) paid for Samba is a record for QPR.

Inter Milan signed 18-year old Croatian Mateo Kovacic from Dinamo Zagreb for $US15.3 million.

US international Brek Shea joined EPL's Stoke City from FC Dallas for $US 4 million.

David Beckham is the most talked about signing this winter after joining French giants Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer. He will donate all of his salary to charity.
