Chelsea produced its most ruthless attacking display in more than two years on Sunday to crush Aston Villa 8-0 and end a dismal Premier League run at home.
While not accomplishing the biggest margin of victory in English Premier League history (that belongs to Manchester United defeating Ipswich 9-0), they did set an impresive mark with the win by becoming the first team in history to have seven different players score in a game (Ramires had a brace).
The Blues ripped Villa apart with ease after Fernando Torres headed in the opener after just three minutes at Stamford Bridge.
David Luiz on a free kick and Branislav Ivanovic added goals before half time. Frank Lampard, Ramires (twice), Oscar and Eden Hazard were on target after the break.
It was Chelsea's biggest win since beating Wigan by the same score in May 2010 and the team's first in the league at home since the start of October.
The Blues climbed back to third place, seven points behind second-place Manchester City but with a game in hand.
