Cristiano Ronaldo is still vacationing in Thailand but the Portuguese winger continues to make news no matter where in the world he travels. In a conversation with a Thai television channel show "Morning TV," the Real Madrid scorer spoke about his accomplishments over the past year.
"Winning the title was the greatest moment I've had at Real Madrid," Ronaldo said. “We won the most difficult league in the world.”
CR7 went on to say that the accomplishment was especially sweet considering his team finished nine-points ahead of perennial footballing-power Barcelona.
Ronaldo showed some uncharacteristic humility when he acknowledged that he did not know exactly how many goals he scored in the last term.
"I know I scored 46 goals in La Liga last season, but to be honest, I don't know how many I scored overall."
He also spoke frankly about the decision to take the fifth penalty in Portugal’s penalty shootout loss in the Euros. People then ask why you don't take the first, second or third... It's just a decision based on something you feel at the time. Penalty shootouts are like a lottery. The best team doesn't always win. I just decided to take the fifth."
Finally, Ronaldo spoke about his time in the Far East. "I've really enjoyed myself these last 12 days in Thailand. The climate is fantastic, the food is excellent and people gave me a great welcome. I feel proud for being here. Thailand is, no doubt, the most beautiful place I've ever been in. It is marvelous and I'd like to come back. We went fishing four days and fished all sorts of fish. I love it; it allows me to relax.”
