Due to the suspensions to Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim for nine games and his assistants Umit Davila and Hasan Salas receiving one and two game bans respectively, reserve coach Duygu Erdogan could become the first woman to coach a team in the Turkish Super Lig.

Terim’s suspension came after his heavy protests after being handed a red card in the league game against Mersin Idmanyurdu, leaving a spot open on the sidelines for the team that includes Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder.

As one of the highest standing coaches remaining after the suspensions, Erdogan could be in the sidelines when the team plays Kardemir Karabuk on Saturday.

Erdogan and goalkeeping coach Claudio Taffarelel are the only coaches eligible for the game and Terim already stated in an interview, “Erdogan and Taffarel might be at the Karabuksport game.”
