Jose Mourinho clarified that his decision to put Iker casillas on the bench against Malaga was "a tactical decision. You can invent what you want but the decision is tecnical."

Pushed to explain if he believes that Adan is in better form than Iker Casillas, Mou explained that it was the decision of his assistants.

"I take my assistant's opinion as valid; they decided Casillas be on the bench. We understand taht right now Adan is better than Casillas."

Mourinho qualified his statement to say that his decision also had to do with the team's defensive play.

"It's a problem of defense. It's not personal to Casillas, but the team and defensive work," explained Mourinho while adding Adan was not to blame in the three goals scored by Malaga.

"Last season, Real Madrid was champion. This season we are in an insurmountable situation. We are not having a good championship. We have not been well match to match; things have happened. I don't like to talk, last season we were on top and now we are on the bottom. I'm not happy, I don't want to avoid responsibility for the whole we are in."

Not giving up

Despite knowing winning the league is practically impossible, the Portuguese manager says that quitting is not an option.

"I'm not afraid for my position. Soccer is soccer. I'm never scared of my job. Managers know that soccer doesn't have a memory. Titles and work don't count. I'm too honest to conitnue to fight for a lost cause if the players don't want to. But they do. They have played to win but we were not lucky. They have attacked three times and scored three times."

He continued by stating that his players are sad and that the break "will do good. If we think of what Real Madrid means, there we have motivation that we need beyong the qualification."

Finally, he made it clear that he did not blame the players for the loss.

"I have told them that they can go home calmly."
