
With two players sent off for the match, the second very "controversial," Cruz Azul was lucky to escape with a 1-1 draw against Chivas, which could not take advantage of the extra manpower and remains winless in Clausura 2013.
Rafael Marquez Lugo, who returned to action after suffering an injury, scored the Chivas goal in the 40th minute, to give them the draw after Javier "Chuletita" Orozco opened the scoring with a goal in the 30th minute for the visitors.
The match became complictated for Cruz Azul in the 82nd minute, when Gerardo Flores was sent off for a foul on Luis Morales. Then, in the 85th minute, Nicolas Bertolo was also sent off.
Chivas went forward to try and take advantage from their superior numbers, but Cruz Azul would not let them break through.
Gerardo Torrado (59') and Luis Amaranto Perea (87') also received yellow cards.
