Cruz Azul retained its undefeated run in the tournament against a Puebla team that inches closer to relegaiton, unable to get important points in the Apertura 2012.
Mariano Pavone was the hero for the team from the capital, scoring the loan goal of the match in the 83rd minute with a point blank shot that ricocheted off Herminio Miranda and into goal.
It was a disappointing display form Cruz Azul who still needed a bit of luck in defeating a Puebla side that has failed to find any rhythm so far in the tournament.
Puebla was further handicapped by the ejection of Jesus Chavez in the 31st minute.
With the victory, Cruz Azul reaches eight points in four games while Puebla has only 1 point in as many games.
