The Copa Mexico will have 14 participants from the Promotional League, of course the most popular player being Cuauhtemoc Blanco, who along with Dorados in Group 1 will face Leon, Monarcas, and Tecos.

Neza will be playing in the second group against Cruz Azul, Atlas, and Altamira, on their roster stands out Carlos Carino, who played with Pumas and Santos in the First Division.

Altamira is one of the teams with the smallest budgets in the league; even so it has Spaniard Nacho Moral on its roster, a midfielder with experience in the lower tiers of Spanish football.

Pumas Morelos will compete with Necaxa, Jaguares, and San Luis in Group A of the Copa. Pumas Morelos has various players that have already played in the top tier including Raul Servin.

Veracruz managed to convince Braulio Luna to return to compete in group 5 with America, Queretaro and Correcaminos. .

In Correcaminos they have added the Uruguayan from America, Nicolas Olivera, who along with Chelis, will look to take the club to advance in the Cop and the top league.

Juan Pablo El Loquito Garcia and Merida will compete in group 6 alongside Pumas, Tijuana, and Celaya.

Celaya, who just ascended to the Promotional League from the second division, will look to consolidate its place with players like Omar Trujillo, former player for Monarcas Morelia.

In the seventh group, the last of the new Copa Mexico, will be Jair Garcia and the Lobos BUAP, alongside Puebla, Toluca, and Irapuato.

Melvin Brown will add support to Irapuato, where he will play against his teammates from Puebla in the Copa.
