Friday 8:30 p.m. Chiapas vs. Atlas
Atlas, which has looked strong at the start of the Clausura 2013, needs to take advantage of a Chiapas struggling side to get out of the bottom of the relegation table. The strong Atlas defense matches up perfectly with a weak Chiapas attack. Expect a low scoring affair going for the visitors. PREDICTION: Atlas 1-0 Chiapas. Photo: Mexsport -
Saturday 6 p.m. America vs. Queretaro
Though Queretaro has also improved, they will suffer from the luck of the draw here. America has looked like the best team this season and Queretaro has not shown enough improvement to show it can compete against the top teams. America, though, may struggle with having five players called up to a midweek friendly. PREDICTION: America 2-1 Queretaro. Photo: Mexsport -
Saturday 8 p.m. Tigres vs. Tijuana
The premier match of the day between two of the top teams this season. Tijuana has looked solid in the back, as has Tigres, though their attack has been a lot more promising. Expect a tight match, with the Tigres depth proving the difference. PREDICTION: Tigres 3-2 Tijuana. Photo: Mexsport -
Saturday 8 p.m. Pachuca vs. Toluca
Both Toluca and Pachuca have struggled to find goals this season, so there wont be a shootout in this one. Pachuca should take advantage of its home-field and speed to beat a bit of a lethargic Toluca side as they hope to make it to the top eight spots of the table. PREDICTION: Pachuca 2-1 Toluca. Saturday 9 p.m. Leon vs. Cruz Azul
Leon continues to struggle so far in 2013, with their reinforcements not paying dividends and their attacking duo struggling. Theyre facing a strong Cruz Azul side that is facing its own injury woes. Regardless, Cruz Azuls depth (including Teofilio Gutierrez gaining momentum) should be too much for Leon. PREDICTION: Cruz Azul 2-0 Leon. Photo: Mexsport -
Sunday 1 p.m. Puebla vs. Morelia
Two teams that have been hard to read so far in this tournament, both Puebla and Morelia have looked competitive this season without truly impressing. With such an even matchup, it could be a perfect opportunity to see the teams potentials. Pueblas attack is still lacking a bit more than Morelia, who is still waiting for Mancilla to get back into scoring rhythm. PREDICTION: Morelia 2-1 Puebla. Photo: Mexsport -
Sunday 1 p.m. Pumas vs. Santos
Pumas and Santos are still recovering from slow starts to the season, though they are also both coming off big wins against Toluca and Leon respectively. Santos seems to be gaining the better momentum, with star striker Oribe Peralta in great form. Pumas is still with a bit of an identity crisis, without any true protagonist taking over. PREDICTION: Santos 2-1 Pumas. Photo: Mexsport -
Sunday 6 p.m. Chivas vs. San Luis
Though still struggling to get results, Chivas has looked stronger under Benjamin Galindo. Rafael Marquez Lugo is back to scoring form and looks ready to create a scoring tangent with Miguel Sabah. San Luis has struggled so far this season, with only one point in four games. This looks set for Chivas to get its first win of the season. PREDICTION: Chivas 2-0 San Luis Photo: Mexsport -
Sunday 7 p.m. Atlante vs. Monterrey
Atlante and Monterrey have both shown their power in the offense while struggling defensively. Both teams are coming off shutouts last week, though Monterrey is more solid in the back to counter the Atlante attack. Expect another shootout, with Atlante struggling to adapt to a new manager. PREDICTION: Monterrey 3-2 Atlante. Photo: Mexsport
