According to the Daily Mail, Carlos Tevez is ready to move on to AC Milan, freeing up Manchester City to make a £30 million offer to Robin van Persie.
Manchester United is also in the running for van Persie's, and the battle could be as close as their Premier League title one was, with Man City edging out United by goal differential.
A source close to City told the Daily Mail, "They are selling Tevez to Milan. You’ll see it in the next few days. If, for any reason, that deal hits a complication, City may sell Edin Dzeko to Milan instead. But, for the moment, all efforts are focused on selling Tevez. That will open up the Van Persie deal."
Tevez wanted to join Milan last year during his stand-off with CIty, and now he may be allowed his dream move to Italy as a reward for helping City win the title.
Arsenal is still hoping to persuade van Persie to return, but wants at least £30 million for the striker if they decided to sell him. Van Persie has only one year left on his contract, and sources close to him say he would prefer to go to United if dealt.
