Manny Pacquiao's last knockout came against Miguel Cotto in 2009 when he won the WBO Welterweight title as Miguel Cotto as the referees cut the fight short in the twelfth round to give Pacquiao the technical knockout.

While Cotto did a great job in the first round, Pacquiao dominated the rest of the fight including knockdowns of Cotto in the second and fourth round. Many, including Cottos wife, believed the fight should have been stopped in the ninth round.

Previous to that knockout came the merciless beating of Ricky Hatton with two knockdowns in the first round and a debilitating knockout in the second round. The fight, in 2009, was the last time Pacquiao won by a definitive knockout.

The loss was so humiliating to the British boxer that he considered suicide after the fight with Pacquiao. The fight would also encourage Hatton to retire from boxing.

In 2008, while still in the lightweight division, Pacquiao managed to knockout David Diaz with a left cross to end the fight with 2:24 left in the ninth round.

It had been a dominant performance by the Filipino fighter, with Diaz suffering seriously from cuts over his eyes. Had it not been a knockout, a technical one may have been called shortly thereafter.

Last time Manny Pacquiao faced an undefeated fighter it ended well for the Filipino: ending Mexican Jorge Solis 35 fight unbeaten streak. Pacquiao managed to knockout the super featherweight champion in the eighth round.

With the knockout of Solis Pacquiao infamous rivalry with Mexican boxers took new meaning, especially since his last professional knockout had been another Mexican legend.

Avenging the loss in their first meeting (the last time Pacquiao has lost), Manny Pacquiao defeated Mexican legend Erik Morales with a 10th round knockout in their 2006 fight.

The loss was the first time Morales had been knocked out in his career. He had survived earlier knockdowns in the fights by falling on the ropes and official respectively.
